For Reformation Faith
Lord of the Church,
Today is the official day set aside to remember the Reformation. On this day, over five hundred years ago, a monk named Martin Luther boldly put his faith into action by seeking to address and correct a number of errors he saw in the teaching and practice of his church. Rather than avoid ruffling feathers or rocking the boat, he took action. Rather than living under a fear cloud of “what-if’s?”, he took action. Rather than timidly hiding in the corner and hoping someone else would step up, he took action. Lord, keep your people today just as bold and confident to call out and correct whenever your Word is corrupted or maligned. For that to happen, we must remain immersed in your Word, where you work in us the conviction and fortitude to fight for the faith. Grant it, we pray, by your continued grace.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
