For the Faith to Worry Less and Trust More
Providential Father,
You are a God of wonder, yet we are so easily filled with worry. You deter us from worrying, reminding us that worry adds no time to our lives, and that if you provide for the birds of the air, you will most certainly also provide for mankind. Perhaps worst of all, by our worry we betray ourselves, revealing that we desire and demand to be the ones in control of all things, and are not truly content to trust that you are. Forgive us for our worry, then free us from our worry. Replace it with a certainty in your plain and true promises in your Word. Lead us to trade in our trepidation for trust, leaning on you more and more in faith, so that we might see more clearly your gracious providence for us, and marvel at how beautifully you care for us and bring good out of all things for your people.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
