For Martyrs
Victorious Savior,
All over the world, those whose names are written in the Book of Life are being ushered into heaven as martyrs. Many who call you Savior are surrounded by servants of Satan who hate Christianity and are so deceived by their false god that they believe murder is commendable and praiseworthy. Whenever possible, Lord, turn them from the darkness of their blind unbelief to see the light of real love, joy, and peace in you. But when their obstinate hearts remain hard, make their hellish plans come to ruin and carry out justice and vengeance accordingly. Use the deaths of dedicated Christian martyrs as a striking witness to the power of the gospel, so that others cannot help but take notice. Let the blood of martyrs not be spilled in vain; by their exemplary faith, inspire other Christians, draw unbelievers to you, and build your church through the very efforts of those seeking to destroy it.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
