For the Blessings of the Reformation
Heavenly Father,
Sundays are sacred. Worship for many this morning will include the special celebration of the ongoing blessings of the Reformation, which saw the gospel restored to its place of prominence in the church. Through the efforts of the reformers, you opposed the destructive false teaching that man becomes right with you by his own efforts. Thank you for these soldiers of the cross who were brave enough to put their lives on the line to see Christ raised up and elevated once again as Substitute and Savior of the world. Strengthen your Church to remain bold and brave in the present and the future, that she might continue to contend faithfully for the truth and the freedom it offers through Jesus. Keep us in the one true faith until that final glorious day of your Son’s return.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
