To Be Grateful for My Job
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the blessing of employment. We are far too comfortable complaining about our jobs and not grateful enough for having them. Though you provide for our daily bread through many channels, work is one of the primary means by which you allow us to care for our family. Work also provides an outlet for us to contribute to something bigger than ourselves and to put our gifts to use in service to others. Give us the patience to work under overbearing bosses and alongside challenging coworkers. Help us see that work carried out to your glory is never in vain. Drive us to give our best, not to impress others, but because in all things we aim to serve you – even in the workplace. Where permitted, let me make you known by speaking freely and frequently about you; where not, let how I conduct myself and the way I treat others stand out. In all things in the workplace, may I bring you glory and represent you well.
