DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Kindness

Kind Savior,
Let kindness be evident in the way I treat others. When that means taking an extra moment to slow down from busyness to acknowledge someone else and take time to listen, help me be aware of it. Guide me also to speak kindly to others in general, so that when they leave a conversation with me, they feel uplifted and positive. When kindness doesn’t require words, let my actions and gestures display it. Guard me against favoritism, so that my kindness isn’t limited only to those I choose. Bless others who could benefit from being built up in even small ways through my deliberate efforts at being kind.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Uplift and Encourage Others at Church

Heavenly Father,
Sundays are sacred. Since I am always uplifted and encouraged by your Word in worship, I pray this morning that you also use me to encourage and uplift others. Spur me on to step outside of my normal circle of friends to meet and greet someone new. Let my lips be filled with complementary words of kindness. While I don’t know the details of all the stress and strain your people bring with them into your house each week, I can remind them of the peace you came to bring that surpasses their every trouble. When worshippers leave your house this morning, let them do so not only filled up with your Spirit, but also cheered on by their fellow believers, including me.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Those Struggling After Christmas

Joy of the World,
The day after Christmas can be a sad one for many. It can feel like it serves as the official mark of the holidays coming to a close. With Christmas in the rearview mirror, joy and anticipation quickly fade. No matter the cause, I pray for you to be with all who are down or struggling. The highs of the holidays can usher in difficult lows. Uplift those whose hearts are hurting or spirits are saddened. Turn their gloom to glee with good news and words of encouragement. Brighten their demeanor by fostering a grateful attitude in them, so they become aware of the many reasons they have to give thanks. Ultimately, whenever possible, I pray that you are not only enough for all people, struggling or not, but also that you become the source of their greatest joy.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
