For Those Traveling for the Holidays

Protecting Father,
Plans are in place for family and friends to gather and celebrate this month and especially next week. Direct your angels to watch and keep all travelers safe. Keep drivers on the road well-rested and attentive. Keep pilots in the air alert and focused. Ensure that precautionary steps and safety procedures in all areas of travel are diligently carried out and no corners are cut. Equip first responders and emergency care providers with all of the resources they need to act swiftly to provide help and aid whenever it is needed. Use travelers, too, to be aware and to look out for each other and be a source of help to those in need. Grant patience and discernment to all who oversee the logistics of mass transportation and bless their efforts in the busy days ahead.

For Access to Public Worship

Heavenly Father,
Sundays are sacred. While we take for granted the ease with which Americans are generally able to attend church, that isn’t the case all of the world. In many countries opposed to Christianity, believers put their lives at risk every time they travel to gather for worship. In other countries, even where Christians are free to worship, geography or distance can make traveling to church a tremendous challenge. For many, poverty puts a strain on reliable transportation. Bless the sacrifices so many believers make just to attend worship, and lighten or remove whatever obstacles stand in their way. Make clear paths readily available to all who desire to come together for worship. Where that isn’t possible, let your Word satisfy and nourish the spirits of your people in other ways.

To Protect Those Traveling

Mighty God,
Many will be traveling over the course of this weekend and next week. While we enjoy the blessings of being able to travel so efficiently and in so many ways, along with these blessings come additional dangers and risks. Many are on the roads and in the air delivering packages and goods. Keep them safe as they navigate through traffic. Grant adequate rest and sharp focus to pilots as they fly passengers to and from their destinations. Give extra patience to ride share drivers as they experience an increase in requests. Help those driving their own vehicles and family members to stay alert and be cautious on the roads, especially wherever harsh weather presents challenging conditions. Send your guardian angels to diligently watch over and protect all travelers, to guard families against having to mourn tragedy this time of year rather than celebrating your birth.
