DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Practice Patience More

Patient Lord,
You praise patience in your Word. Jesus modeled it perfectly during his life and ministry. You also deal with me patiently, not treating me as my sins deserve, but mercifully forgiving all my sins – including my impatience. I ask you not only to continue to deal with me patiently, but also to grant me more patience in my life. Keep me from rash responses and immediately overreacting with my family members when what is really called for is simply patience. Enable me to remain patient when others make mistakes or disregard directions, so that I am in a proper frame of mind to offer constructive correction. Help me practice patience not just in the presence of others, but also when no one else is around. Lead me to be as patient with others as you are with me.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For This Year’s Blessings

Lord God,
As the year winds down to a close, I look back and thank you for the blessings you’ve granted me throughout the year. I am grateful for the joyful experiences you’ve allowed me to have and for the ways you used challenges and hardships to shape and grow me. You kept your promise to provide for my physical and spiritual needs, and guarded and protected me in countless ways – some of which I am aware, while others I am not. Thank you for never leaving me, for always holding out hope, and for surrounding me with so many people who have made a positive difference in my life. I pray that you have also used me to be that for others. Lead me to set aside time in the remaining days of this year to be mindful of how good you’ve been to me this year.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Reflect on Christmas

Savior God,
During this week of Christmas, provide extra time for reflection. Prompt believers to pause and pray, to set aside time in the midst of the busyness to get lost in the wonder of Christmas and its significance. Lead Christians to slow down and soak in their salvation and all of the rich realities that accompany it.

Move unbelievers to ponder as well. Whether they are indifferent, uncertain, curious, skeptical, or even averse to Christianity, intervene in their lives as you see fit, to coax them to contemplate the account of Christmas. As they reflect on it, raise up questions and concerns in their hearts that drive them to desire answers. Leave their hearts unsettled until they search your Scriptures, and then through the power of your mighty Word, let the Spirit stir their souls and lead them to faith and the assurance of their salvation.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
