DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Troubleshooting in Worship

Heavenly Father,
Sundays are sacred. Gathering together for worship with fellow believers is one of the most edifying ways you feed our faith. Yet, because we are flawed people living in a fallen world, we know that unexpected dilemmas will occasionally arise, presenting problems for worship. When someone is sick, technology glitches, nature strikes, or any number of challenges bubble up to the surface, thank you for the adaptability of so many to problem-solve and make the most of difficult situations. Thank you for worshippers who are patient and understanding, and thank you, Lord, for providing so many different ways for your Word to be proclaimed and heard, despite so many things that can go wrong.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Look More to You and Less to Ourselves

Mighty Rock,
While we can be frustrated when reminded that we don’t have all the answers and are not in control, turn those situations into learning experiences for us. Use them as prompts to lead us to look to you first more often. Whether we’re unclear on the problem or the plan to address it, make it second nature for us to fix our focus on you. When we do, show us repeatedly that you mean it when you promise to work out everything for our good. And forge our faith into such a rock-solid trust in you that we arrive at the point where we couldn’t imagine beginning any pursuit or taking on any challenge without you, your Word, and your promises as our starting point. Less of us, more of you, Lord. Always.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Those Facing Persistent Problems

Mighty God,
Now that Christmas has passed, some are stuck with the reality that their problems still persist. Having temporarily avoided them or pretending the magic of Christmas would somehow make them all disappear didn’t actually fix anything. However, what Christmas can do is change our view of the problems we face. Having been reminded that you came into this world to overcome it and to defeat the devil’s work, our problems seem so much smaller by comparison. Give strength and determination to those dealing with ongoing issues and challenges, and remind them that the Savior born in Bethlehem is the Mighty God who is strong to deliver and save. Lead them to turn to you, to lean on you, and to trust in you to guide and direct them through their troubles.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
