DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Live With Intention

Dear Lord,
You alone know the number of days assigned to each of us here on earth. Whether that time is long or short, lead us to live with intentionality. Rather than allowing life to happen to us and seeing our time here as simply responding to one series of events after another, fill us with drive and purpose. You have called us to so much that can positively impact so many, and we casually shrug our shoulders as opportunities pass us by. Forgive us for our selfish indifference toward others by loving and serving ourselves more than them. Move us to take inventory of our daily lives to more fully grasp the myriad moments each day brings for us to take action. Let your loving sacrifice on our behalf compel us to make the most of every opportunity, for our time is short and the needs of so many are so great. Give us grace-fueled drive and purpose to embrace our station in life and be deliberate about being the salt and light you set us apart to be.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Hear and Do

Heavenly Father,
Sundays are sacred. My prayer today for worship is that I do not merely hear your Word, but that I also consider how to put it into practice. You provide so much guidance and direction for my life, as well as countless powerful promises. Yet, as powerful as your Word is, when I allow it to merely go in one ear and out the other, without applying it in my life, I am testing more than I am trusting. Build up my trust by spurring me on toward action with your gracious promises this week. Let your Word flourish in and through me as I strive not just to hear, but also to do.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Your Good Friday Sacrifice

Lamb of God,
You take away the sin of the world. Today, we remember the cost. There is no greater sacrifice imaginable that could have been made than that you, the innocent Son of God, would willingly be executed in the place of the real convicted lawbreakers. My sin crucified you, and your compassion saved me. On this Good Friday, words will not ever be able to capture or convey the thanks you rightly deserve. Nevertheless, thank you for dying for me. Compel me to live for you.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
