For Success Wherever Your Word Is Spread

Holy Spirit,
Grant tremendous success wherever your Word is proclaimed. Scripture is more accessible than it has ever been, so I pray that wherever it is heard and read, your Spirit works through it to guide souls out of the darkness of unbelief into the beautiful, bright light of faith. Stifle and thwart every effort of the evil one to quiet your Word. Bless the work of missionaries, preachers, teachers, singers, writers, and any other artists who seek to make your Word known, and let your kingdom come through their efforts. Increase curiosity for your Word, so that many are willing to seek its wisdom and truth. Let your Word endure and thrive everywhere, and wherever it spreads, let the salvation of many souls follow.

For Confidence to Teach Others

Perfect Teacher,
There is no salvation apart from hearing of you, knowing what you have done, and believing it. So, since no one can be saved without learning, it follows that no one can be saved without teaching. We may not always feel confident in our ability to teach others when it comes to your Word, but since disciples are always learning and growing, we are by default filled with what we need to teach others. The teaching we do will not likely take place in a classroom, but in day-to-day living and through one-on-one relationships. You do not require experts to teach others, just believers putting their faith into practice through a willingness to disciple others. Make me one of them.

For the Blessings of Accessibility in Worship

Heavenly Father,
Sundays are sacred. Thank you for the many technological advances that make worship accessible to so many. Those physically unable to gather in person for worship can watch or listen along online. Smartphones aid the visually and audibly impaired in truly amazing ways, removing so many barriers that would have hindered their worship in the past. A screen can assist the single parent managing multiple little ones, as well as the elderly whose arthritic hands might otherwise struggle with heavy hymnals. A printed service folder may allow an unfamiliar first-time worshiper to follow along more easily at first. Numerous apps and online services both expand the ways we can give while also simplifying the gift-giving process. Thank you for all of these advances. Give us prudence to utilize them wisely, and lead us to regularly rejoice over so many channels by which so many have access to their Savior and his grace.
