DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Practice Patience More

Patient Lord,
You praise patience in your Word. Jesus modeled it perfectly during his life and ministry. You also deal with me patiently, not treating me as my sins deserve, but mercifully forgiving all my sins – including my impatience. I ask you not only to continue to deal with me patiently, but also to grant me more patience in my life. Keep me from rash responses and immediately overreacting with my family members when what is really called for is simply patience. Enable me to remain patient when others make mistakes or disregard directions, so that I am in a proper frame of mind to offer constructive correction. Help me practice patience not just in the presence of others, but also when no one else is around. Lead me to be as patient with others as you are with me.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Be Approachable

Precious Savior,
Grant me a gentle spirit. Help me to realize that it isn’t just my words, but my body language and actions as well that contribute to how I come across to others. Do not allow me to get drawn into confrontations just for the sake of arguing. Free me from the need to always be right and help me to see the value in appreciating and respecting other people’s views and opinions. Lead me to measure my words and speak to others with patient kindness. Through all of these efforts, I pray that others may see me as approachable, caring, and always willing to listen.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness

Holy Spirit,
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Gentleness is not typically a characteristic which our society associates with men, which makes it all the more noticeable when it is evident. Since gentleness is evidence of your work, Holy Spirit, and a fruit you desire to see in Christians, please grant me more of it. In past situations when aggression or forcefulness took over within me, have mercy on me. When I have been harsh with others, forgive me. Help me see that gentleness is not associated with weakness, but is instead a godly characteristic by which you set your people apart. Let your gentleness be evident in me whenever I interact with others. May others view me as approachable and caring because of it. Use my gentleness as yet another gateway to open up more opportunities to humbly serve my neighbor.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
