To Be at Peace Through Your Peace
Prince of Peace,
In you we have the peace that surpasses all understanding. The division and damnation we deserved because of our sins have been eternally overturned by your life of perfect obedience and your sacrificial death as our Substitute. All fear has faded away. All dread has departed. All that remains is peace. Still, though, we let our worldly troubles trump our peace. When we don’t feel at peace, it’s most often because we forget or fail to focus on our peace. So, precious Savior, direct us daily to quietly reflect on the peace that no struggle can ever take away. Remind us that no matter how desperate our situation may appear, we can always spiritually recalibrate by pausing to find real rest in the peace that is permanently ours, the peace for all people that is provided through you alone. Let that peace permeate our hearts – and the hearts of the whole world!
