DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Those Facing Heavy Decisions

Spirit of Comfort,
Be present for those who find themselves in situations where they need to make hard, heavy decisions. When choices will significantly impact families, finances, and futures, do not let those decisions be rash or hasty. When circumstances require a decision to be made urgently or in a very short timeframe, grant those decision-makers an extra measure of your Spirit, and surround them with wisdom and counsel. When gut-wrenching end-of-life decisions need to be made, let the confidence of the Resurrection and eternal life wash over and calm troubled, anxious hearts. Move believers in the body of Christ to offer the comfort of their presence for those facing emotionally draining decisions, so that they don’t have to make those decisions alone.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Distinguish Between What’s Interesting and What’s Important

Santifying Spirit,
Our days are filled with choices to make. Possibilities are endless. Without your guidance and direction, we pursue far too much that offers little more than entertainment value, not truly serving you, others, or ourselves in any meaningful way. Grant us the discernment to differentiate what is interesting and what is important. We are easily deceived into believing something is important simply because we’re interested in it. But when you enlighten us to compare what you consider important with what we consider important, the differences become glaringly obvious. Then, when we see the differences, give us the discipline to pursue more God things than just good things.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Know Your Will

Sanctifying Spirit,
Grant me the wisdom and understanding necessary to know your will. In our Christian freedom, you allow us so many daily paths to take and choices to make. And even when believers choose different paths and make different choices, they can all be pleasing in your sight. So as I seek to know your will in my life, I do not expect or anticipate some signal or sign from you regarding every single decision, since you have made no promise to provide them.

However, since you have promised to grant me wisdom and understanding when seeking your will, this I ask for boldly. Knowing also where you provide wisdom and understanding, direct me to your Word to find what I need. Help me to know you better and to seek to understand your words and actions over the course of history, which have blessed and served your people in countless ways. Then, use everything I learn about you to better guide me to carry out your will for my life.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
