DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

To Work on Our Timing

Dear God,
While your timing is perfect, ours is not. We pause and procrastinate when we should push forward, and we push forward when we should slow down and reflect. We get impatient when you call on us to wait and put our hope in you, and we remain inactive and inattentive when you’re waiting for us to take action. We want to rush to speak when we should listen, and listen silently too long when we should speak up. Forgive us for our poor timing and mismanagement of your gift of time in general. Help us to number our days and to see our time here on earth as a finite gift. Prompt us to look to your Word for guidance in balancing between resting and responding. As we work on our own timing, make us always grateful for your perfect timing, which, at just the right time, ushered your Son into our world to save.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Moderation in My Screen Time

Dear Lord,
Give me a spirit of self-discipline in my usage of technology and screens. There are tremendous blessings available to us through our phones and laptops, but any blessing can quickly become a burden if I allow myself to become enslaved by it. In order to determine if my screen time has reached unhealthy levels, I have to be aware of how much time I spend on my devices. If I notice others commenting on my frequent usage, let me take it to heart and make changes rather than becoming bitter. Help me sort out the good and beneficial uses from the unnecessary and negative ones. Let moderation be my mantra, so that my relationship with screens honors you and allows me to be present to serve others.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR GUYS

For Peace of Mind

Loving Savior,
There is no Sometimes I feel like my life is a rudderless ship at sea, directionless and at the mercy of the elements around me. The demands of others on my time, the needs of my family, work obligations, and a general lack of direction in life leave me wondering if I’m doing something wrong. I get overwhelmed by not even knowing where to begin to make any changes or progress. On top of that, everyone around me seems to have their lives in order while mine is a chaotic mess.

Grant me, Lord, the peace and calm that come from taking a deep spiritual breath and remembering that my identity and station in life all flow from my faith in you. Remind me that, while I’m never really in control anyway, you are, and that’s enough for me. You know my needs better than I do, and promise to act in my best interest. Give me your servant heart, and simply provide me with the energy and zeal to work faithfully in carrying out the roles and responsibilities you’ve graciously entrusted to me.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
